The Ford Bronco Outshines The Competition
The Ford Bronco Takes On The Jeep Wrangler
2024 Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport vs. 2024 Jeep Wrangler: Compare Off-Road Ready 4x4s in Layton
Four years into its highly anticipated return, the legendary Ford Bronco and its smaller sibling, the Ford Bronco Sport, have proven that the hype was more than justified. The Bronco's retro-inspired styling, nicely equipped accommodations, and outstanding off-road capability have earned it two consecutive Car and Driver 10Best awards. And with its myriad configuration options, potent powertrains, and go-anywhere G.O.A.T. Modes, the Bronco aims to claim its spot as the industry's standard-setting 4x4.
Of course, there is one prominent competitor with an equally formidable pedigree: the Jeep Wrangler. However, the 2024 Bronco and Bronco Sport offer a few things that the 2024 Wrangler can't match. Our team at Ed Kenley Ford breaks down the impressive features of our new Ford Bronco and Ford Bronco Sport to show you how they compare to the Jeep Wrangler and offer you the most robust and desirable off-road street cred.

Accommodations and Drivability
The Ford Bronco's cabin is impressively spacious, with four-door models offering nearly three more inches of headroom and two more inches of legroom than the Jeep Wrangler. And when you're not exploring the trails, the Bronco provides a smoother ride and better on-road handling, making it more livable day-to-day for your Clinton or Clearfield commute. Easy drivability and tamer handling on paved roads are even more prominent in the milder Ford Bronco sport, which offers drivers who are not off-road most of the time an easier drive feel without sacrificing capabilities.
All Ford Bronco models come with a standard 12-inch SYNC 4 system that includes wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and will always have the most advanced connected features thanks to over-the-air updates. Plus, it offers a standard 8-inch fully digital instrument cluster the Wrangler doesn't offer until the midlevel Sahara trims with their 7-inch option.

Cargo Space
The Ford Bronco has more room for your adventures. In its two-door configuration, the Bronco offers 22 cubic feet behind the second row and 52.3 cubes with the rear seats folded. Four-door models boast a capacious 38.3 cubic feet behind the second row and 83 behind the first.
The Ford Bronco Sport offers smaller overall dimensions but accommodates daily commutes and paved roads while transitioning to outdoor fun with clever features like an extendable work table and overhead L.E.D. lighting built into the tailgate.
A two-door Wrangler has just 12.9 cubic feet behind the second row and 31.7 behind the first. Four-door models have 31.7-72.4 cubic feet.
Safety
The Ford Bronco and Ford Bronco Sport come with an impressive range of advanced safety and driver assistance technology that are a part of the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite. The following features will come standard on even the most basic, entry-level models:
- Automatic High Beams
- Blind-Spot Monitoring
- Lane-Keep Assist
- Automatic Emergency Braking
- Backup Camera
The Jeep Wrangler can come optioned with similar features but only with a premium price tag or add-on packages. Not only is the Jeep Wrangler more expensive, but you'll have to pay extra for similar safety equipment.
Ford Bronco vs. Jeep Wrangler: Off-Road Performance
The Ford Bronco is an off-roader's dream, thanks to a standard four-wheel-drive system and a two-speed, electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case. It also boasts a segment-exclusive 7-speed manual transmission or an available 10-speed automatic transmission. Higher trims upgrade to an Advanced 4x4 System with Automatic On-Demand Engagement and a two-speed electromechanical transfer case.
The Ford Bronco offers an advanced Terrain Management System with up to eight G.O.A.T. modes to help enthusiasts of all experience levels "Go Over All types of Terrain." Every Bronco comes standard with Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Sand, while higher tiers add Mud/Ruts, Rock Crawl, and Baja. The Wrangler offers a few off-road adjustments, but it can't equal the adaptability of the Bronco's terrain settings.
The Bronco boasts higher standard performance, with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost® turbo-four making up to 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. The Wrangler's base 3.6-liter V-6 produces 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.
For even greater efficiency, the smaller Bronco Sport offers a 185-horsepower base three-cylinder, and the turbocharged four-cylinder is only 40-horsepower behind the Wrangler's base engine and also offers the impressive G.O.A.T. Mode that comes on the larger Bronco.
Off-road-ready Bronco trims come factory-equipped with 35-inch all-terrain tires, while the Raptor has 37-inch tires. Most 2024 Jeep Wrangler models will also come with all-terrain tires, but the standard is 33 inches. Only with an optional Xtreme Tire Package will you be able to match the standard 35-inch wheels that come on the Bronco.
