2024 Ford Maverick Vs. The Hyundai Santa Cruz
While the market is based on full-size and mid-size pickup trucks, the smaller trucks are beginning to make a comeback. The 2024 Ford Maverick is a force to be reckoned with. With its refined handling, powerful payload and towing capacity, and an upscaled interior, Clinton drivers will be cruising in style. Here's how the Ford Maverick compares to another smaller pickup truck, the Hyundai Santa Cruz.
Available Trims and Affordability
Every truck needs multiple models to please every Layton driver. You'll have many options to choose from with the Ford Maverick, and at an affordable cost, too. There are five models to look at, starting at $25,410 and going up to $39,945 on the most expensive model. While the Hyundai Santa Cruz is also available in five trims, every model costs more than the Maverick. Ogden drivers who need an affordable, small-size pickup turn to the Ford Maverick.
You can take control of the unexplored world with the Tremor off-road package, which adds a distinct design to the Maverick, offering adventurous spirits with manual driving modes, unique front and rear springs, and an increased ride height.
Engine and Handling
There's a revolution going on within the automotive world. More and more vehicles are becoming electric, or offering hybrid options. While the base Maverick comes equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 250 horsepower, there's an available hybrid powertrain. The gasoline option comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and optional all-wheel drive capabilities. Opting for the hybrid powertrain, you'll be using front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission. With a still suspension, you'll have an easy time carrying your trailer or heavy payload.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz has two powertrains available. The standard engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that outputs 191 horsepower. While this truck is completely outfitted for urban driving, it's hard to compare it to the versatile ride the Maverick always offers.
Interior Comfort
Every Ford Maverick is a crew cab, meaning you'll have four full-size doors for you Syracuse, Utah family, and your friends too. Even as a small truck, there are multiple storage cubbies for all your tools or other necessities. There's lots of technology inside, too. Get accustomed to adjustable lumbar support in the front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and remote keyless entry. You'll also be treated to a 12-volt and optional 110-volt outlet in the bed.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz also features an exciting interior design. While much of the truck is fully digital, there are still some traditional features like a regular shifter instead of a rotary knob. There's no outlet in the bed, and the storage cubbies aren't as apparent as they are in the Maverick.
Towing Capacity and Payload
You'll have excellent towing and payload capacity with the Ford Maverick, even with the hybrid powertrain. You'll be towing 2,000 pounds with the hybrid option, or up to 4,000 pounds with the four-cylinder engine and the additional Tow package.
While the Hyundai Santa Cruz is capped at 5,000 pounds of towing capacity, that's only with the highest and most expensive model. Clearfield, Utah drivers could get 3,500 pounds of towing power with the lower Santa Cruz models, but that'll still be expensive compared to the Ford Maverick.
Connectivity and Safety Features
Both the Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz are equipped with an 8.0-inch infotainment system, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. While the Santa Cruz comes with wireless device charging, the Ford Maverick includes an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot.
You'll have peace of mind when you're driving the Maverick, as automated emergency braking and other driver-assistance features are standard.
